FATV Launched On YouTube
The Football Association (FA) has announced the launch of FATV, a new online video service on YouTube.
The broadcast will cover all aspects of The FA's work, providing users with exclusive programming from all areas of football including unique access to Fabio Capello and the England players, as well as The FA Cup.
In his role as Executive Producer, Tim Lovejoy will lead the creative output of the channel, including hosting weekly discussions with big names from inside the game. The output will feature a host of player and celebrity interviews about their love of football.
Interaction with the channel will come primarily at YouTube.com/FATV, with videos also being made available on TheFA.com/FATV.
Rights-management specialist myvideorights.com will manage the distribution of content to a broad spectrum of sites, ensuring that the reach of FATV extends to all football fans online.
FATV has already delivered over a million separate live streams to several games streamed online and for free this season, featuring several FA Cup ties, England Under-21s matches and recently The FA Women's Premier League Cup Final and key England Women's World Cup Qualifiers.
The Football Association's Head of Broadcast Stuart Turner said: "We are pleased that we can now offer our growing online audience this new service which will give a unique insight into the workings of everything The FA does. It is our hope that we can provide engaging and exclusive content that fans won't have seen before, and while entertaining people we can also stimulate better understanding and encourage greater participation in football".
Jeff Nathenson from YouTube also commented: "We are looking forward to the Football Association using YouTube as a means of reaching England fans this summer. It will be a great location for supporters to get a look behind the scenes at the England camp in South Africa. However what is truly exciting for us is that this isn't just about the World Cup, but that FATV will be a long-term presence on YouTube with content extending to the FA Cup, U21s and Women's Football."
