Tinie Tempah Lays Down 'Secret Tracks'

An established recording studio in rural Warwickshire has played host to one of the UK's newest and hottest talents, Tinie Tempah.
Tinie - whose single Pass Out recently went to No1 in the UK charts - was at the Born in a Barn (BB) Studio in the village of Ansty for a "secret session" and spent four hours solid on the tracking.
It is for a "surprise, last-minute remix…..which is undisclosable at the moment" according to Roger Greasby, BB Studio Manager.
Speaking from the converted old milking parlour of Mobbs Wood Farm, which is just north of Coventry (off M6 J2) he explained the session.
"He was only here four hours but when you get a chart topping rapper like Tinie visiting time moves fast.
"Around about 2.00pm Thursday 23rd March the tour arrived and Tinie Tempah stepped out of his road cruiser. After meeting and greeting amidst the farms tractors, we dodged the muddy farmyard and I showed them into BB Studio.
"The tour manager nipped off to arrange the evenings gig at the Kasbah, leaving just Tinie and me to work on the track.
"The time flew by and I didn't even stop to take a picture," said Roger.
"Tinie Tempah is impeccably polite, absolutely precise about what he wants to record and knows exactly what sound he wants, but it was the biggest pleasure to advise on some parts and give constructive critisism as I would any vocal artist.
"At about 6pm the tour left and I was left to do some rough mixes and send the files to the label. What an honour to work with such a big star," enthused the sound wizard.
Established in 1996, Born in a Barn is described as an ideal location for professional recordings that has attracted local customers from Coventry, the West Midlands & Warwickshire, as well as visitors from many other countries outside the UK.
It can accommodate/sleep groups of up to six in house or there is a hotel just one mile away.
This sound recording studio has been developed over several years after relocation of the previous Coventry city recording studio was forced - due to the building being demolished - and was originally just the Live Room and Control Room.
During Spring 2001, having visited a variety of recording studios and talked to many musical artists, further refurbishments were made and there are now five rooms, perfect for demo recordings upwards.
It has been extensively equippled with state-of-the-art Digital Hardware including Digidesign and Focusrite. An Apple Mac G5 PPC sits at the hub running Pro Tools 7 software & uses Waves Diamond plug-ins to assist in the mastering process - vital for great sounding recordings.
