DutchView Buys Snell's HD Convertor

A leading Netherlands audio/visual services company, DutchView, has purchased Snell's Alchemist Ph.C – HD motion-compensated standards converter, This is part of a significant upgrade to the company's conversion capabilities. The Alchemist Ph.C – HD is the latest example of DutchView's longtime commitment to offer only the absolute state-of-the-art in format and standards conversion services.
"At DutchView, we strive to serve as our clients' technical media partner for every aspect of recording, processing, storage, and distribution of audio/visual content.
"As such, we are determined to deliver the absolute highest-quality results," said Henri van den Broek, Post-Production Facility Manager for DutchView.
"Alchemist Ph.C – HD is an important part of this strategy and will enable us to exceed our clients' expectations as they continue to demand high-quality conversion output for all types of broadcast content."
With clients including some of the Netherlands' largest production houses and involvement in more than 1,500 television productions annually, DutchView is the leader in its market for production and post-production services.
The Alchemist Ph.C – HD anchors the copy center within the company's post-production arm, DutchView PostProduction BV, providing a wide range of conversion services including 1080 50i to 1080 59.94i, PAL to NTSC, up- and down-conversion between SD and HD, and aspect ratio conversions.
DutchView also purchased the Alchemist Ph.C – HD's FilmTools option for handling frame-based content as well as the integrated Dolby E audio handling, which will broaden the company's ability to serve its film-based clients and those with advanced audio requirements.
"The system provides exactly the results we're looking for with content ranging from Formula 1 racing events and football to HD-produced operas and cultural programs," the manager concluded.
The Snell Alchemist Ph.C – HD is the product of extensive research into the exacting demands of HD frame-rate standards conversion, producing converted HD outputs of unparalleled quality and clarity that are virtually indistinguishable from the original input. The high-quality output is a direct result of Snell's Emmy Award-winning Ph.C motion measurement technology, optimized to prevent the motion-related artifacts that are commonly associated with standards conversion in HD video.
