BBC voted the best British export

The BBC have topped the charts as Britain's best export, beating competition from the Royal Family and Manchester United, according to new research from Parcelforce Worldwide.
The poll of more than 1,000 people revealed more than a fifth believe the BBC is the country's leading export. The Queen and her family closely followed in second place, with Manchester United coming third.
Tim Brown, Sales and Marketing Director at Parcelforce Worldwide, said: "Britain has a global reputation for producing innovative products and services. From the BBC to Manchester United, the poll reveals that the UK continues to export a number of products with a global reputation."
Rupert Gavin, Chief Executive BBC Worldwide, said: "As the UK's largest exporter of television programmes, we have had enormous success with BBC properties around the globe. Recent hits include 'The Weakest Link', 'The Blue Planet', 'Top of The Pops', 'Walking with Dinosaurs', 'Teletubbies', 'Tweenies' and the Golden Jubilee concerts. It is satisfying that the contribution we are making to the UK's exports is being recognised by the British public."
With reports that 200 million people across the globe watched last year's Jubilee celebrations, the Royal Family came second in the best export charts with 17% of respondents. Manchester United, with 50 million fans worldwide (including 16 million in Asia) is firmly established in third position with 13% voting for the football club.
After Manchester United, those polled voted the next prestigious British exports were the telephone, The Beatles and JK Rowling - a surprising top ten entry racing ahead of traditional UK favourites Fish and Chips, James Bond, Greenwich Mean Time and The Mini.
