Sachtler For The Film With The Briefcase
The legendary 'Pulp Fiction' briefcase and its fascinating lucent contents are at the epicentre of new film “Der Film mit dem Koffer” (The Film with the Briefcase).
Shot in and around Stuttgart at the end of January 2009, Director Christof Reiling employed experienced pros, dedicated new comers and young talent on a very tight time schedule. To add to the pressure, heavy rain, muddy grounds and high demands were made not only on the 15 member film team, but also on the equipment.
Producer Marko Vucic reported: "We know that Sachtler fluid heads and tripods have excellent handling properties and are lightweight and extremely robust. That is why we also chose Sachtler luminaires for the lighting and we were not disappointed. The lighting conditions were constantly changing, sometimes it poured down and at other times the sky was crystal clear."
Vucic explained how the high-quality and robust Sachtler Reporter 270DI and Reporter 21D Micro Sun luminaries we were able to illuminate the location with indirect as well as direct light in order to replace the natural sunlight. The high-performance Reporter 270DI was especially suitable for these shoots. At a distance of five meters to an object it offered more than 9000 Lux light performance.
Due to the tight time schedule and the numerous shooting locations, the assembly and disassembly had to be done fast. According to Vucic, “The Sachtler equipment was perfect for such situations due to its lightweight and mobility. The luminaires hardly develop heat so that you can transport a 270 watt lamp after 30 minutes operation time without a problem. It was getting especially tight towards the end of the first day of shooting. The sun set earlier, but we really wanted to get the remaining shots done. The Sachtler daylight luminaire provided the half hour we needed."
For the post production, the team collaborated with the Stuttgart V4 Media GmbH who often provide their know-how for certain new generation productions, just like Sachtler does. As soon as the post production is completed the film will be shown at short film festivals in the cinemas.
