Acting Animals

Acting Animals is a long-established (1984) and highly professional company which is big enough to cope, and small enough to care. For us, no job is too big nor too small, and every job is treated as the most important. Our excellent reputation has been built on this approach, and we intend to keep that reputation.

For almost 30 years, we have supplied animals for film, stills, videos, and live performances. We are a small, dedicated and highly motivated team, working with you to produce the best results, and using only positive reinforcement methods to train our animals.

We have hundreds of animals – ranging from locusts to eagles, mice to horses, millipedes to snakes – all raised and trained for the job, and all friendly and highly trained, ensuring the safety of all our team – animals, trainers, actors and other staff – is always given the highest priority.

If we don’t seem to have exactly what you’re looking for – ask us. We have a nationwide network of trainers and owners who keep a wide range of animals. If it’s available in the UK – we can get it.

We are fully licensed and insured, and work to our own strict code of practice. We are available on a consultancy basis, and can carry out all pre-production work, including risk assessment for work involving animals of any kind.

Our staff hold full DBS clearance, are highly experienced in their work, and know about camera angles, and what looks best on screen.

We are registered with DEFRA and Licenced under The Animal Welfare Act (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018

Working in all parts of the UK, all animals are accompanied at all times by professional handlers, and animals can be specifically trained for clients (details on request).
