Bridge Technologies Monitoring Extends Efficiencies

The developer of the first complete satellite to set-top box monitoring solution for IPTV operators, Bridge Technologies, has announced the release of version 4.2 of its VideoBRIDGE software, which adds further key extension and enhancements to the company's end-to-end monitoring solution.
The new VideoBRIDGE v4.2 software release introduces new capabilities for fault-tracking, a revised and improved interface, and increased integration between Bridge Technologies' microVB systems deployed at subscriber premises and its IP-Probe monitoring solutions. The microVB device is the first fully viable solution for monitoring performance at the subscriber's set-top box, delivering continuous remote monitoring data to the MDC server system.
VideoBRIDGE v4.2 software enhances one of the key operational and business benefits of the VideoBRIDGE system - clear presentation of large amounts of data - with a new, streamlined user interface that brings together the major physical functions for ready access and faster fault-finding.
Further increasing usability by extending the range of monitored parameters, v4.2 offers extended TR 101 290 analysis capability and searchable table decoding of all tables that are transmitted with the signal, including channel names, conditional access and program guide.
Users can search by service name or program ID and show all the tables that correspond. Increased MPTS thumbnail functionality and VBC server support for control of the microVB devices add to the integration of VideoBRIDGE's end-to-end monitoring and analysis capability.
Simen K. Frostad, Chairman of Bridge Technologies, said: "Each new release of software extends the market-leading advantage of the VideoBRIDGE system.
"In version 4.2, we've concentrated on extending the data-gathering capabilities of the system, but also given a lot of attention to the interface, because a monitoring system is only really useful it is also presents data with the analytical clarity that enables engineering staff to manage large networks effectively.
"That's one of the key strengths of the VideoBRIDGE system, and it means that IPTV operators using the system can deliver high-quality service to the subscriber base, but with greatly reduced maintenance and engineering costs," he said.
