Nevion Introduces Industry's 'Biggest' Compact Router

Video transport solution provider for broadcasters, telecommunications service providers and government entities worldwide, Nevion, has announced the introduction of the most powerful and greenest compact router in the industry.
The Sublime SL-3GHD128128, which will be formally introduced at IBC 2009 in Amsterdam (Stand 8.B70), provides flexible, reliable and affordable routing of 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals for users requiring simple configurations.
Typical applications for professional broadcasters include signal routing within general broadcast facilities and mobile outside applications.
Despite its compact footprint at 483 x 355 x 55mm (about 19 x 14 x 2.2 inches), the SL-3GHD128128 boasts a range of powerful features including support of 3G/HD/SD-SDI and DVB-ASI at bit rates of 19.4Mbps to 3Gbps.
The router can be split into one, two and four partitions on different levels and is extremely power efficient, consuming less than 200 watts.
The SL-3GHD128128 also features Ethernet and RS-232 control interfaces and reclocking on standard 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals. Reclockers may also be turned off to support E4/STM-1e signals.
Nils B. Sannes, Director of Product Management, VikinX routing, said: "Nevion made its name introducing compact routers to the global marketplace. We were the first to introduce compact routing in 1997 and the first to introduce 3G-SDI compact routers years later.
"The feature-packed SL-3GHD128128 continues our leadership and innovation in routing with a powerful, compact and highly energy and cost-effective solution."
The new VikinX SL-3GHD128128 is also fully integrated with Nevion's multicon control system, which provides a single control interface for VikinX routing and Flashlink signal processing equipment.
In addition, the SL-3GHD128128 has embedded support for IP-based CPs and web panels as well as all third-party protocols supported by Multicon.
Nevion's energy-saving VikinX Sublime product line represents the most extensive range of matrix sizes available and covers signal formats from analog video/audio to SD and HDTV.
Nevion's SMPTE-292 HD products provide support for the 3Gbps dual link standard. A full range of 3Gbps single link HD products is available, underscoring the company's commitment to protecting its customers' investment with future-proofed products.
