OpenGear 3 Gb/s Fiber Line Launched At IBC 2009

Ross Video is introducing an openGear 3 Gb/s Fiber line solution at IBC 2009.
The new Fiber line compliments Ross' existing distribution and conversion line. The Ross Fiber line offers a range of optical/electrical conversions with ultra high density offering up to 40 conversions in 2RU. The line is extremely flexible, allowing customers to choose the number of conversions and the number of reclocked inputs/outputs to meet the needs of any application.
Eric Goodmurphy, Marketing Product Manager, openGear, said: "The Fiber line is designed with all active components on the front removable module making the rear I/O passive. This eliminates the need to ever access the back of the frame."
Fiber output launch power is -7dBm, at 1310nm using a standard optical LC connection. Input sensitivity is -19dbm, with an optical range of 1270nm to 1610nm using an LC connection.
Eric Goodmurphy said: "As part of the Fiber launch we are also introducing a 3G capable HD/SD 16 channel audio MUX/DMX. The flexible audio proc allows for invert, sum, swap, shuffle, gain and sample rate conversion. These solutions can be locked to house reference guaranteeing glitch free audio embedding even on the loss of input video."
The Ross Fiber line, with data rates from 143 Mb/s to 2.97Gb/s, passive backplanes, up to 40 conversion in 2RU, coupled with the flexibility in I/O capability - an ideal choice for customers with installed fiber or considering adopting fiber.
