Artistic Licence Restructures
As part of celebrating its 21st anniversary this year, control, lighting and LED manufacturer Artistic Licence has recently completed a period of internal restructuring.
Simon Hobday takes up the role of Managing Director, freeing the company founder, Wayne Howell, to become Creative Director. Murray Gellatly becomes full-time Financial Director whilst Diane Grant assumes the position of Non-Executive Director in his place. Louise L'Homme continues as Technical Sales Manager whilst Simon Fraser heads up overseas operations as Managing Director of Artistic Licence Asia.
The restructuring comes in response to the continued growth of the company, which, despite the recession, continues to be kept busy developing products for the ever-increasing market of lighting control and LED lighting.
Hobday explained: "We find our market continually expanding in all areas, geographically and typologically. Our traditional roots of entertainment lighting have been augmented by architectural and event lighting, whilst massive growth across Asia necessitated the opening of Artistic Licence Asia earlier this year just to cover the Far and Middle Eastern markets."
Howell said: "The appointment of Simon as Managing Director is a very positive move for the company. He will be taking a great deal of the day running of the company off my hands, allowing me to concentrate on the development of the innovative new products which have made Artistic Licence the successful company it is today."
Howell will also be able to pursue his passion for challenging and raising the standards of lighting control and infrastructure issues across the industry.
Recent initiatives to have come from Artistic Licence include the Zero Carbon Project which has been formed by Howell as a knowledge-sharing forum to explore methods of Micro Power Generation. The aim of the project is to achieve truly carbon-neutral lighting solutions, in an industry which could - and should - be at the forefront of such developments.
Howell continued: "Artistic Licence is dedicated to using the latest technology to provide the industry with the tools it needs, especially as those requirements become more sophisticated. We are looking forward to a future of continued growth and innovation and have implemented a company structure which we believe will take us forward in the best possible way."
