Invest In Knowledge At IBC 2009

To make IBC the complete experience, the organisers are adding even more value this year. The exhibition remains comprehensive, with all the key players - large and small - represented. With the halls organised by themes, visitors can quickly find the products and services they need, even with well over 1,000 stands to visit.
There are specialist zones covering digital signage, IPTV and mobile television. As last year, there are free business briefing sessions associated with them, giving visitors a quick start in the market, thanks to informed comment from suppliers and early adopters.
The popular IBC Training Zone is expanding for 2009. There will be more training venues, with the scope expanded to include production techniques and technology as well as desktop finishing tools. As ever, places in the training sessions will be free. Also free is the Big Screen, another IBC investment in the visitor experience. This is a state of the art digital cinema with the latest in projection and surround sound. Check it out for manufacturer presentations, special screenings and, of course, the Monday night movie.
The heart of IBC is the conference. This year, more than ever, it is a vital source of knowledge and comment, including major streams on finding the positives from the economic crisis and how professionals can work with user generated content, as well as regular but no less important topics such as news and sport broadcasting and 3D and digital cinema, an IBC favourite.
Michael Crimp, IBC COO, said: "IBC 2009 is looking very strong indeed. The exhibitors are filling all the halls of the RAI again. We know the macroeconomic environment has forced exhibitors to review their marketing commitments and we respect their continued support. I believe they see us as a safe pair of hands in uncertain times. This is the year to invest in knowledge and so we are investing heavily in new and enhanced visitor attractions such as training and free exhibition briefing sessions, to ensure the IBC Experience offers the best value for money ever.
