Skyworks Launches Largest HD Aerial Archive

The UK-based independent producer and high definition aerial filming specialist, Skyworks, has announced the launch of the largest HD aerial archive in the world, boasting over 800 hours of Skyworks' original footage.
With almost 60,000 of the highest quality shots taken from over 800 hours of HD footage, the archive contains a catalogue of Skyworks' current and past content. This includes dramatic views of the whole of Britain and Western Europe, with breathtaking footage of the Alps and a wide selection of showreels organised by country and theme.
Skyworks has so far captured most of Western Europe with stunning images of some of the most beautiful landscapes, as well as in-depth coverage of key cities and points of interest. All the footage has been shot by Skyworks and work is now underway to extend the available footage to cover the rest of Europe, the United States, South Africa and China.
The archive, which can be found on Skyworks' website, allows instant navigation and search for clips by region, place of interest, city and weather conditions. Registering on the site gives the user further access and functionality on the archive, and updates the user when further footage is available. New material is constantly being uploaded and licensing is possible online.
Damian Keogh, Managing Director for Skyworks, said: "Skyworks strives to create the perfect shot using our experience and our understanding of composition and editorial context combined with our track record on TV production. Our archive contains stunning images from across the globe available to enhance any programme's production value. It is already the world's largest HD aerial archive, and is ever expanding with new and breathtaking footage."
The launch of the Skyworks archive follows recent news of their collaboration with the Smithsonian Network to film the whole of the US from the air in Aerial America. They have also become the first production company in the world to be commissioned to film the whole of China from the air and this follows Skyworks success in the UK with Wainwright Walks and Railway Walks for the BBC.
