Hiltron Reports Positive And Rewarding CABSAT 2009

Hiltron Communications, a leading satellite system design and integration company, has reported a "positive and rewarding" CABSAT 2009.
Held at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre in conjunction with Satellite MENA 2009, the exhibition and its parallel conference reflected the importance of satellite-based signal distribution to broadcasters in the Middle East region.
Michael Schiesti, Hiltron's Sales Director, commented: "Our primary objective at CABSAT was to promote the complementary skills and experience of Hiltron Communications and ATG Broadcast as associate companies within the Dan Technologies Systems Integration Division.
"Where previously Hiltron specialised in the design and installation of satellite communication systems, we are now ideally placed to tender for complete broadcast system infrastructures from mobile and studio content acquisition right through to satellite communications.
"Our colleagues within the division are reciprocally strengthened by adding microwave RF systems capability to their existing understanding of baseband and signal routing, processing, file-based workflow, multi-channel playout, newsroom automaton and archiving.
"The Middle East region has always been very respective to direct-to-home satellite transmission given the very wide geographical area it embraces and the broad spread of its population. Attendance from the region itself was lower than at CABSAT 2008 as the Middle East has obviously been affected by global financial conditions. We secured a substantial order from another exhibiting company, repeating the business-to-business pattern we have experienced at other broadcast exhibitions."
