Blue Adds A Touch Of Glamour To 'Piers Morgan On...'

blue has completed post production on ITV's brand new series 'Piers Morgan on...'
The documentary sees the presenter access some of the most glamourous locations in the world - Dubai, Monte Carlo & Hollywood.
Appointed by Splash Media, blue worked on the grading, editing and audio for the programme. The first of the three-part documentary aired on January 29 at 9pm on ITV1.
Morgan travels to Dubai in the first episode for an insight into the extremes of the city. He explores the jaw-dropping skyscrapers, luxury hotels and astounding affluence created in the middle of the desert in just 20 years. He also talks to British people living and working there and meets Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, one of the men behind the recent takeover of Manchester City Football Club.
After Dubai, Piers visits Monte Carlo to see what the rich and famous get up to in the principality. Gerry Gedge, blue's colourist, said: "The client's brief was for each episode to be as colourful and glitzy as possible, while making sure skin tones were kept realistic. The cameraman did a great job, especially with 'Monte Carlo', as it was very sunny with clear blue skies. My task was to boost the saturation and contrast, keeping skins tones under control."
The main challenge for the colourist was the casino scene. Gedge continued: "Particular areas of the shot needed brightening up, so keeping the faces consistent and not too red was a bit of a challenge."
blue's Kevin Boyle, Ben Ormerod and Phitz Hearne completed audio work, while Ronnie Newman and Alex Pickering worked on the online editing. Graeme Hayes worked alongside Gerry on the grade.
