F80 Series 3-Chip Projectors From Projectiondesign Now Shipping

News Image
Projectiondesign is now shipping the company's first 3-chip DLP projector, the F80 which is available in a choice of 1080p and WUXGA configurations and targeted at high brightness, large screen applications.
The F80 series offers up to 8,500 ANSI lumens of brightness together with an unprecedented contrast ratio for 3-chip DLP projectors of up to 15,000:1. It also incorporates projectiondesign's new Advanced Color Optical Processing (ACOP) technology, offering sophisticated optical calibration for superior projected images.
Commenting on the importance of the F80 range, Anders Løkke, International Marketing & Communications Manager, projectiondesign, said: "With their very high brightness, and performance, sophisticated built-in calibration and a range of configuration options, the F80 series takes us firmly into the market for large-venue video projection. Rental and staging, pre-show advertising and content preview and even houses of worship are among the many markets for the F80 1080, while the WUXGA version is sure to be popular in simulation, industrial design and other research applications."
Amongst the key features of the new F80 series is ACOP technology, which enables the user to optically calibrate for colour and output. It combines individual optical filters in the red, green and blue channels, an infinitely adjustable optical iris and DynamicBlack functionality from Texas Instruments to give incredibly detailed, deeply saturated images without the loss of bit depth experienced when a system is calibrated electronically. The F80 series can be configured with a wide range of filter options, including filters for true REC709 and DCI/P3 colour gamut.
"There seems to be no let-up in the demand for ever brighter projection systems and ever larger screen deployments, and we are delighted to be able to offer the F80 series to the market."
Both projectors will be shown to projectiondesign's European audience at Integrated Systems Europe on stand 1J51 in Amsterdam from February 3-5, 2009.
