Dvfootage.com create new digital community

September's launch of DVfootage.com promises to make digital asset management and e-commerce solutions available to a wider audience, enabling independent stock footage suppliers to place digitised media for sale online.
The strength of DVfootage.com lies in the web-based digital asset management tools, which are completely customisable by the user and interconnected with the DVfootage search engine for final end-delivery of the product.
Logging footage is an intuitive and quick process, and licensing and pricing options are flexible, allowing suppliers to define the terms-of-use and value of their product.
DVfootage founder, Dan Baron, has worked in the stock footage management and sales industry for the last 10 years. He said: “The DVfootage premise is that independent stock footage suppliers want to leverage the power of digital communications and maintain control of their media assets, including branding, logging, licensing, and pricing.”
From MiniDV to High Definition, DVfootage’s proprietary digital asset management and e-commerce interface supports digital video as the standard for stock footage management, retrieval, distribution, and delivery.
DVfootage tools can be integrated and customised to an independent stock footage website or a supplier can choose to join a DVfootage 'Community Marketplace', with broadcast quality clips available for immediate license, purchase, and online delivery.
The first Community Marketplace, Ocean Footage, specializes in the ocean realm, and can be viewed at www.oceanfootage.com. For a small annual fee and a maximum sales commission of 25%, the Community Marketplace provides each cinematographer with a Profile URL, which includes a professional history, a web site link, an e-mail link, and advanced search capabilities within the complete DVfootage collection or the cinematographer’s collection.
Cinematographers can also view statistics on the number of hits, previews, and sales for each video clip within their collection.
DVfootage plans to expand the Community Marketplace within the year to include nature, travel, action sports, and business footage.
Both the Custom Integration and Community Marketplace interfaces are powered by DVfootage’s robust search engine, which allows researchers to search by keywords, subject categories, collections, and cinematographer.
Researchers can preview an entire clip, then download footage for offline editing prior to purchasing the high quality footage. Upon purchase, master footage can be downloaded online or delivered on tape, CD or DVD.
