Hamlet Takes Star Award For 3Gb/s Test Generator

Reflecting the growing need for high quality, high performance test equipment serving the growing market for 1080p video systems, test and measurement equipment manufacturers and suppliers Hamlet has received a sought-after Superior Technology award for its Protean Axiom 3G test signal generator.
The Protean Axiom is a popular and proven product: the latest version is now capable of generating a range of extremely stable and precise 3Gb/s test patterns, with accompanying audio, to allow engineers to check and align new 1080p installations.
Presented at IBC, the Star awards are judged by the editorial staff of TV Technology magazine. According to Mark Hallinger, Editor of TV Technology Europe, the awards "are given to interesting new products that help a user save money or accomplish a task in an easier way. The products selected help advance the industry because they filled an important gap in the production or transmission chain."
The Protean Axiom 3G is the world's smallest 3 Gb/s, HD and SD test pattern generator, capable of creating 37 different test patterns, with a 20 character alphanumeric ident for identifying sources, embedded audio, selection of tones in 8 stereo pairs in four groups. It is fully SMPTE and compliant across 28 different video format standards, including 1080p/50 and 1080p/59/94.
