Ken Barnsley Joins Fairlight To Head Up European Operations

As part of an ongoing commitment to expand its sales and distribution channels in Europe, Fairlight has announced the appointment of Ken Barnsley to the post of European Operations Director, with effect from October 1, 2008.
Ken Barnsley will be responsible for overseeing sales, developing new routes to market in previously untapped territories and strengthening the Fairlight brand in Europe and the Middle East.
During a career spanning more than 25 years, Ken Barnsley has been in charge of sales and marketing for some of the most respected companies in the music, broadcast, film and post production industries.
These include Solid State Logic, Avid UK, Amek and, most recently, Merging Technologies, where he was head of sales and marketing for nearly eight years. He also has a solid technical background having spent 12 years as an audio and video engineer.
Fairlight's Managing Director John Lancken, said: "Clearly, Ken's experience speaks for itself. Needless to say, he certainly has the Right Stuff to pilot Fairlight's sales and marketing programmes and ultimately expand our presence in the European and Middle Eastern theatres."
Barnsley, who will be based in the UK, added: "Fairlight is one of the most respected companies in the industry and its range of automated digital mixing systems is absolutely right for today's market.
"Speed, accuracy, ease of use and flexibility are words that are often bandied around in our industry, but in Fairlight's case they are entirely appropriate because its products deliver on every level.
"Their ability to speed up workflow, converge audio and video, enhance creativity and produce stunning results far exceed thos of any other digital audio workstation on the market.
"Personally, the direction the company is taking is one I have wanted to take for some years. Fully integrated solutions within a tapeless workflow environment are exactly what the market is seeking and I am delighted to be part of such a forward-thinking and innovative company."
Fairlight has been a leader in digital audio development since its inception in 1975. For more than three decades it has pioneered new technologies such as digital sampling and music sequencing, cutting edge digital music synthesis and, more recently, new approaches to professional audio editing, recording and mixing that culminated in 2006 with the launch of its CC-1 Crystal Core Card, the world's first media processing engine 'on a chip'.
Its product range include the DREAM Constellation and Anthem mixing consoles, PyxisTrack video and the award-winning Xynergi controller, a desktop user interface that allows engineers to access all features and functions of the Fairlight CC-1, as well as commonly used Windows applications such as Email, Word and Excel.
