ND Filter breakthrough from Formatt

Formatt Filters, the Queens Award winning UK based manufacturer of filters for film, video, and broadcast, has announced a major breakthrough in its production process for the manufacture of neutral density (ND) filters.
ND filters are the staple of most cameramen and are one of the most effective tools in the filter range.
They are by definition colourless and uniformly reduce light of all wavelengths without affecting colour rendition. They are notoriously difficult to manufacture, especially in their graduated form.
Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation has traditionally caused the dyes used in ND filters to degrade and colour shift, most often towards red or green. Formatt's revolutionary A.C.T.™ cell, combined with a new bonding technology, has eradicated the need for UV curing while also allowing far better colour control.
This ensures that Formatt's new range of NDs are no longer exposed to UV radiation in the production process.
Formatt's confidence in the new ND range is demonstrated by the fact that each one is issued with its own 'birth certificate', offering a full guarantee against manufacturing defects.
