Rosco Names Mark Engel As President And CEO

In July, Stan Miller celebrated five decades at the helm of Rosco. He marked the 50th anniversary by announcing the handover of his position as president and CEO to Mark Engel, who joined the company over 16 years ago and had served as Chief Financial Officer before advancing to Chief Operating Officer.
Engel is only the third president in Rosco's nearly 100-year history. Rosco was started in 1910 by Sidney Rosenstein but in 1958 Stan Miller bought the company. It had only four employees and its primary product was colour filters made of gelatin ("gels"). Today Rosco employs hundreds in eleven different countries around the world. It remains the world's largest manufacturer of colour filters, as well as dozens of other products used in theatre, film and television production. Among its achievements are four technical Academy Awards, an Emmy and a variety of product awards.
Mark Engel is now the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Rosco Laboratories but Stan Miller remains active as Chairman of the Board at Rosco. The announcement was made during the annual Summer Meeting of the company, in Connecticut, and Mr Miller's 50 years at Rosco was celebrated with an unforgettable party of over 100 leading people from the domestic US company, East and West coasts, plus people from Rosco's offices in Australia, Europe, Brazil, Canada and Japan.
