ITV Worldwide Signs Proper TV

ITV Worldwide has signed a multi-year development and distribution deal with Toronto-based independent producer Proper Television, Peter Iacono, President and Managing Director of ITV Worldwide.
The deal gives ITV Worldwide exclusive international rights (outside Canada) to all content, formats and series developed by Proper TV.
Proper TV, launched in 2004 by former BBC and Mentorn producer/director Guy O'Sullivan has rapidly grown to become one of Canada's leading suppliers of factual and factual entertainment. The company's credits include top-rated series for Discovery Canada 'Canada's Worst Driver' and Slice relationship show 'Newly Wed, Nearly Dead?'
Proper TV's 'The Real Superhumans and the Quest for the Future Fantastic' recently won the Best Canadian Programme Award at the Banff World Television Awards.
Brand new shows to be represented by ITV Worldwide as part of the deal are a new workplace format for CBC Canada 'I Suck At My Job' property format for HGTV 'Realtor vs Realtor' and 'Junk Raiders' a social experiment with freecyclers and freegans converting and renovating an old industrial space only using objects that were on their way to landfill.
Proper TV has also worked with several UK companies on Canada/UK treaty co-productions and, as a result, the deal offers ITV Worldwide and its producer partners an opportunity to work with the company to co-produce in Canada.

Richard Life, Head of Factual, who negotiated the deal with Proper TV, said: "We are really looking forward to bringing Proper TV's catalogue of programmes and formats to the international market. It is clear to us that the programming they are creating has strong global appeal."
