Splitz Hits The Mark At MPC
Oxygen DCT, a UK-based broadcast equipment manufacturer and distributor, has announced that the Moving Picture Company recently trialled one of the company's new high definition splitters and were extremely impressed with the results.
Colin Smith, Senior Engineer at MPC, said: "It's a really useful piece of kit, which was quick and easy to install and did the job perfectly, saving us money and time."
Oxygen DCT's Splitz product is a passive high definition splitter with two outputs. It does not require power, unlike traditional distribution amplifiers and is very compact at just 25mm high and 30mm deep, enabling it to be used in more confined environments such as racks or even cable ducts.
The outputs can be used over cable distances of up to 25 metres and at just one quarter of the cost of an equivalent video DA, it also significantly reduces installation costs.
Splitz is part of a new range of 'really useful' systems products and includes Isolatz, Switchz and Extendz; these are HDTV, high definition 'glue' products, which do exactly as their names suggest.
Oxygen DCT, established in 2005, is one of the fastest growing in the broadcast TV industry with office in Germany, Spain, France and Turkey, as well as distributors in strategic territories around the world.
It provides 'end-to-end' solutions and manufactures over 500 systems products which are immediately available 24/7, 365 days a year, from the company's world leading revolutionary e-commerce based website.
It has a subsidiary, called Oxygen Broadcast Systems Solutions, which is a UK distributor for over 1,000 high-end products from Astrodesign, Fjord Media, Masterclock, Penta Media, Sandar and Teranex. Oxygen DCT's customers include BBC TV, ITV, Channel Four TV, Ascent Media, Technicolor, Framestore, Cinesite, MPC and in the US, CBS News, Fox TV, Ascent Media, Discovery channels and many more similar organisations worldwide.
