Hyperactive purchase Tyrell upgrades

Tyrell, providers of technology to the UK post-production and broadcast industry, have announced the purchase and installation of 20 Meridien upgrades by leading broadcast equipment hire company Hyperactive.
The upgraded Avid Media Composer editing systems will be used in a variety of major television programmes, sporting events and films, which are currently in production.
Hyperactive, who at present have 64 non-linear editing systems and six Avid Unity storage network systems, have put the new systems straight to work on feature films including 'Love Actually', the next film from Richard Curtis and Hugh Grant currently being shot at Shepperton and 'Ella Enchanted' from Dublin.
The company have also just completed the BBC’s coverage of the Ryder Cup and are now working on the next series of 'Midsommer Murders', for transmission on ITV.
The Meridien Media Composer v11, used by Hyperactive, includes more than 100 new features – ranging from powerful effects like Marquee Titling and FluidMotion to the revolutionary MetaSync technology that brings interactive elements directly into the Avid timeline.

The Media Composer systems are an integral part of our non-linear offering and so having the latest specification will be a major bonus for our customers and the productions that they are working on.”
Tyrell, who have supplied the upgraded systems, also recently entered into a one-year contract with Hyperactive to provide software upgrades and technical support to their Avid equipment.
