Digital UK Appoint David Scott Chief Executive

David Scott, former Managing Director of Channel 4 has been appointed Chief Executive of analogue TV switchover body Digital UK.
Scott will step into the post when the current post holder, Ford Ennals, leaves in February to join clothing company Nike.
Ennals has run the not-for-profit body since it was established in 2005.
Scott helped launch the commercial broadcaster in 1982 and went on to hold the posts of director of finance, managing director and deputy chief executive before leaving in 2005.
Under the switchover programme, analogue terrestrial television signals will be phased out region by region. Switchover will continue in the rest of Cumbria and the Scottish border from November 2008 and is due to be completed nationally by 2012.
Digital UK chairman, Barry Cox, said: "His understanding of the unique challenges of this project, combined with his many years of wider broadcasting experience, will ensure the process continues to be expertly managed and viewers are kept well informed."
Scott commented: "Delivering digital television switchover is probably one of the most exciting and challenging roles in UK broadcasting. It will change forever the television landscape and the viewing experience for millions of households and ensure everyone can share in the benefits of digital TV."
