Teddington Gears Up With Sony HDC-1500 Camcorders

Teddington Studios has acquired four Sony HDC-1500 camcorders with large lens adaptors demonstrating their first step into the HD production market.
Initially, these camcorders will be used to record high definition productions, such as Green Green Grass, which is now in its third series of being shot in HD, as well as Avalons Not Going Out and the new show Teenage Kicks starring Adrian Edmondson. Having previously hired Sony HD Studio Cameras, as the development towards HD becomes more significant, Teddington Studios sought a more permanent solution.
Operations Director, Paul Darbyshire, commented: "The reliability, quality of images and support that Sony offers in their latest technology, has given Teddington confidence in progressing towards HD with their products. We have been a Sony customer for many years and therefore trust the brand, so we are happy to take this next step forward with them."
The Pinewood Studios Group are now looking towards changing their general infrastructure to grow their camera fleet more towards the direction of HD for the future. This investment is largely dependent on market demands, but with confidence growing in the speedy implementation of HD in the UK production sector, changes are being made to prepare to meet the future demand for High Definition.
