TKone/M2 Installs Tektronix WVR7000 Waveform Rasterizer

Tektronix, a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring solutions, has announced that TKone/M2, a leading London post production facility offering a wide range of standard and high definition, film and broadcast services, has installed Tektronix's WVR7000 waveform rasterizer in its Spirit DataCine suite to monitor and manage the quality of HD digital video in the critical, high-speed conversion of film to digital video.
To enable the explosion of digital video, the content, delivery system, and end equipment must all be interoperable and easy-to-use. As the number of HDTVs installed in households worldwide continues to accelerate, so too does the need to meet the expectations of the viewers of those sets while also complying with the legal specifications for HD broadcasting. Post production facilities in particular are required to deliver HD material of the best possible precision and resolution.
Advanced editing and colourist tools that allow these facilities to effectively inspect the quality of video and audio content are crucial to what they deliver to clients. Tektronix is the video test expert, providing the most comprehensive video test and monitoring portfolio for digital video technologies.
Chris Goding, Senior Colourist at TKone/M2, said: "We chose the WVR7000 because of all the rasterizers we tested, it was by far the most user-friendly, intuitive, functional and easy on the eye. What's more, the WVR7000 is can be networked via Ethernet, which means the results can be viewed anywhere we choose. It's also useful to be able to grab a video frame and email it to a client for review."
Eben Jenkins, Director Video Products, Tektronix, said: "Tkone/M2 has an impressive line-up of cutting-edge technology and has blossomed into an eminent facility delivering some of the UK's top TV. We're very pleased that they have acknowledged the power and capabilities of what Tektronix has to offer the worlds of video and post production."
The WVR7000 rasterizer is designed for confidence monitoring (quality verification and control) and artistic monitoring (content processing) applications and is particularly suitable for edit suites where the primary objective is to ensure compliance with video and audio quality requirements.
The WVR7000's unique passive loop-through assures transparent monitoring throughout the entire signal path without introducing distortion. Its error log capacity of 10,000 is the largest currently available in a video monitor and provides an accurate report of any type of error and associated timecodes for fast tracking and correction.
