Granada daytime dawns for Dianne Nelmes

Granada have announced the appointment of Dianne Nelmes to the newly-created position of Director of Daytime and Regional Programmes.
Nelmes joins Granada from ITV, where she has been Controller of Documentaries and Features since March 2000.
The move completes the top tier senior management restructure of Granada’s production division around the company’s key programme genres.
Nelmes will report to Simon Shaps, Chief Executive of Granada Content, who said: “Dianne’s appointment underlines our ongoing commitment to strengthening the daytime schedule and maintaining the high standard of our regional programmes. She has a wealth of invaluable broadcasting experience and we are delighted that she is returning to Granada.”
Nelmes, who will also have the Controllers of Regional Programmes reporting to her, said: "I have had an extremely happy and fulfilling time shaping ITV's documentary output and I am very proud of our programming range. I am hugely excited by my return to Granada and the programming challenges that await me there."
After setting up 'This Morning' in 1988 Dianne Nelmes was appointed Executive Producer, Entertainment a year later. She launched the top rating home video show 'You've Been Framed', the prime-time entertainment series 'Stars In Their Eyes' and the network factual drama series 'In Suspicious Circumstances'.
Her appointment has caused a flurry of unconfirmed speculation that presenters Richard and Judy may make a return to ITV.
