Golden Square Give Midas Touch to X Box Spot

Golden Square's Digital Arm Disqo has just finished the post-production work on a breathtaking spot for X Box.
Their brief was to create a video piece that pushes the realms of believability. And this they have certainly done. In the video we see an extremely physically fit young man performing feats that belie belief, along similar lines to base-jumping and other extreme urban sports. He leaps and back-flips off high buildings, landing on tiny ledges only to flip again and again, upside down, sideways, forwards, backwards, any which way that seems the most impossible method of moving from place to place. He travels unbelievable distances at unbelievable, impossible speeds, fast and slow.
The video was shot on a number of cameras to allow for interesting and different angles to be captured. Using a Weisscam, Director Barney Howells of Partizan, captured some amazing Parkour manoeuvres at a high frame rate to create smooth slow motion shots. He also used an Iconix HD micro camera attached to the Parkour freerunner to capture a new perspective never seen before in freerunning programmes or documentaries.
Flame Artist Fasa Oyibo commented: "We affected a number of shots using masking and keying techniques, adding visual effects to make the scenes appear more realistic.
Location enhancement, set extension and camera moves were used to enhance gravity defying shots.
"In addition, a time warp effect in conjunction with the compositing of various passes was used to create the impression that the Parkour freerunner has mastered gravity and time, but hangs upside down in mid air, with nothing holding him up.
"Set enhancement and manipulation of Parkour freerunner allowed us to create the impression he has jumped an impossible distance whilst making it look absolutely realistic."
