Autodesk Joins The Club
London-based post facility The Club has bought an Autodesk Smoke 2007 editing and finishing system and an Autodesk Flint 2007 visual effects system.
The Club in London's Covent Garden is expanding its business with the purchase of Smoke and Flint through Autodesk reseller XTFX. The facility's managing director Bill Cullen said: "The only money we're spending at the moment is on Autodesk products. In this marketplace, and for what we need to do, Smoke and Flint are the only products that matter."
The kit has already started earning its keep on a variety of Discovery promos, an HD Classic FM cinema ad and corporate work for The Barford Film Co. Two of The Club's operators are being trained in Smoke; Alec Eves, who used to operate Editbox, and Guy Brinsdon who previously worked in Editbox and DS.
The Club's ethos is 'post couture', with the facility undergoing major refurbishment and upgrades. Cullen explains that the facility is moving more into commercials, interactive and corporate work, while keeping their broadcast heritage intact.
Formerly Frontline Television, The Club was founded by managing director Bill Cullen and director Kabir Malik, who completed a management buy-out in 2006.
The facility has over 25 years experience with clients from all areas of production.
