Twofour Digital WebTV Solutions To Use Microsoft Silverlight

Twofour Digital has announced that its next generation of webTV solutions will utilise Microsoft Silverlight, a new cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering rich interactive and media experiences for the Web.
The announcement was made following Streaming Media East earlier this month, as Twofour Digital also announced its role as platinum sponsor of Streaming Media Europe 2007 in London later this year.
"Providing support for Silverlight is our highest priority for the growth of our webTV platform", said Twofour Digital Director Philip Haggar. "For many years we have been committed to Windows Media technologies, including our highly successful Digital Rights Management solution. Now with Silverlight, we have the opportunity to provide our clients with a terrific looking TV-like experience across all browsers, and all based on our existing solution built using Microsoft .NET and Windows Media."
Sean Alexander, director of Silverlight Media for Microsoft Corp. said: "Twofour is well-known in the industry for the quality and creativity of its graphics and animation, as well as for its significant experience in media application development. With Microsoft Silverlight and the Microsoft Expression Studio, Twofour’s creative and technical teams can now develop webTV in a completely integrated workflow, translating to faster time to market with unprecedented experiences. We’re excited about Twofour’s commitment to Silverlight and the impact this will have for next-generation media experiences online."
Microsoft Silverlight is a new cross-platform, cross-browser plug-in for delivering truly engaging web experiences using graphics, interactivity and media. Delivered to end-users through a seamless, fast installation, Silverlight offers consistent experiences to both Mac and Windows users on a variety of browsers including Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari.
