Tektronix Highlight New Products At NAB 2007

Among the new products highlighted Tektronix is the MTM400 MPEG Transport Stream Monitor and the WVR7000 HD Rasterizer.
The MTM400 MPEG Transport Stream Monitor now provides simultaneous monitoring of critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for up to 500 MPEG Transport Streams carried within a Gigabit Ethernet link. The simultaneous monitoring of up to 500 IP sessions includes critical MPEG Transport Stream errors (Sync and Continuity Count), IP packet errors (Lost and Out of Order RTP packets and packet CRC errors) and IP timing (Packet Inter-arrival time). Also newly available is automatic channel changing capability to sequentially poll multiple streams for the MTM400.
The new WVR7000 HD Rasterizer excels at simple video and audio monitoring, and includes options for SD video, composite video, AES-EBU and analogue audio. The WVR7000 is well suited for camera colour calibration and setup in production, and for colour correction and verification of non-compressed audio in the editing suite.
The MTX100B now includes real time monitoring and off line analysis in addition to the existing MPEG transport stream generation and recording capabilities. It is small, light, and robust and easily travels with you (including in an aircraft overhead locker). It is ideally suited for field installation, commissioning and debug of complex MPEG transmission systems.
CerifyLite provides a full range of encoding and baseband tests. This includes extensive testing of file compression, quantization, bitrate, format tests and baseband type video tests for letterbox/pillarbox, gamut, luma, chroma, and video signal levels. Audio tests include audio peak and minimum level, audio loss, clipping, mute, and test tones on audio channels. It is ideal for post production and content houses that need to check that file-based video is correct before it is delivered to a broadcaster.
SyncCert is a new software package that checks and measures the audio and video synchronization of file-based video content. Broadcasters use it for checking audio/video synchronization after capture at any point in the broadcast chain. Content providers use it for checking production/encoding chain to ensure that it is not introducing audio/video sync errors. SyncCert provides a systematic, reliable, and accurate means of detecting audio/video sync errors well before they are severe enough to be visually detected.
Also highlighted at NAB will be the VM6000, an automatic video measurement set that runs on a new hardware platform and replaces the VM5000. Equipped with high-speed signal acquisition hardware, optimized video measurement algorithms, and an integrated, high performance oscilloscope, the VM6000 offers unmatched performance and flexibility for users testing modern consumer digital television (DTV) reception and play-out devices.
The VM6000 is capable of testing SD (480i, 480p, 576i and 576p) and HD (720p, 1080i and 1080p) video formats to user selected tolerance limits delivering fully automated, go/no go results. It will automatically detect video format, which speeds up work and helps to ensure accurate measurement.
An optional SD/HD model provides new capabilities, including H/V synchronous measurement and distortion measurement.
