BBC Vision Studios Make Two Senior Appointments

BBC Vision Studios have announced two new senior appointments to Vision Studios, the BBC's in-house production base.
The new appointments place multi-platform content creation at the heart of the BBC's production operation.
Mark Harrison has been appointed as Head of the Multi-platform, Innovation & Development Studio and Richard Williams is Creative Director, Multi-platform for the new Studio.
Mark is currently Head of the Arts Studio and Richard is currently Interactive Executive, Factual.
The Multi-platform, Innovation & Development Studio reports to Keith Scholey, Deputy Chief Creative Officer, BBC Vision Studios.
The new Multi-platform, Innovation & Development Studio, one of 17 production studios in the BBC, will bring together creative multi-platform teams from drama, entertainment, comedy and factual for the first time into one centre of excellence for multi-platform content creation.
It will be the hub for co-ordinating development and production innovation across Vision Studios, providing its expertise and creativity to projects in all genres.
Mark will be responsible for leading the new Studio and co-ordinating development, innovation and production modernisation across the entire Vision Studios group.
Richard will have responsibility for delivering multi-platform projects across all Vision Studios. Both will sit on the Vision Studios Board.
Peter Salmon, Chief Creative Officer, BBC Vision Studios, said: "The new Multi-platform, Innovation & Development Studio will be a powerhouse for the whole of Vision Studios, leading innovation in multi-platform content creation and driving the modernisation of our production processes.
"It will play an essential part in transforming our business so we can create the highest quality content for audiences in the digital age."
Keith Scholey, Deputy Chief Creative Officer, BBC Vision Studios, says: "Mark Harrison and Richard Williams bring an exceptional combination of flair, skill and experience to their new roles.
"Together their leadership of the new Multi-platform, Innovation & Development Studio will enable Vision Studios to navigate the rapidly changing world of broadcasting and keep us at the forefront on all platforms.
"I'm delighted to welcome them to their new positions at one of the most exciting times in the history of the BBC."
Mark Harrison says: "BBC Vision Studios forms the biggest and best production community in the world. And to have the opportunity to head up the studio charged with forging new and innovative ways of working for that community across all platforms was too good to miss.
"The next few years will see a revolution in media production and I feel very lucky to have a central role in leading the BBC through that revolution."
Richard Williams says: "It's terrifically exciting to take on this new role at the time of a sea of change in broadcasting when what was 'new' media has finally come of age.
"I'm very much looking forward to playing a part in using multi-platform – the web, mobile, interactive TV – to connect with our audiences in all sorts of new ways."
