Ascent Media Selected For mtvU's Support Services

Ascent Media Systems & Technology Services has signed a multi-year agreement with MTV’s 24-hour college network mtvU to provide comprehensive satellite technical support, including receive-site equipment installation and integration, program management, call center, field service and logistics services.
“mtvU broadcasts to 750 campuses and over 7.2 million college students in the US. To effectively manage this growing business, we needed to transition to a firm that had the advanced technical capabilities to handle all of our service requirements,” said Mike Aloisi, MTV Vice President, Technical Planning and Engineering. “Ascent Media was the only company that could deliver everything we required from one central location, while having nationwide field service locations to expedite on-site support.”

mtvU is dedicated to every aspect of college life, from emerging music to student life to pro-social initiatives and on campus events, and is the largest, most comprehensive television network just for college students. mtvU can be seen in the dining areas, fitness centers, student lounges and dorm rooms of campuses throughout the U.S., 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The antenna system at each MtvU location in the US consists of one 1.2M Ku-Band antenna, IRD, messaging computer, modulator and a display.
Broadcasting to 750 colleges across the country, with a combined enrollment of over 7.2 million, mtvU is the largest, most comprehensive television network just for college students.
