Hamlet To Demonstrate Practical Test And Measurement At VideoForum

With the emphasis firmly on the importance of practical and affordable test and measurement tools for all video professionals, whatever the market, Hamlet will use VideoForum 2007 (Earls Court 2, London, 6 to 8 February) to unveil the latest versions of its popular Flexiscope and VidScope-vx platforms.
The hand held, multi-format device will be the centrepiece of a display of Hamlet’s complete range of quality control tools.
Since its launch in 2005, Flexiscope has been widely recognised as putting high precision measurement, at all video formats, literally into the hands of engineers. The new version features a brighter display with even higher resolution. It also extends battery life on a single charge.
The modular format of Flexiscope – a pda-like platform with personality modules giving access to different functionality such as analogue or digital video, or HD – is shared with its even smaller brother, the MicroFlex. Both allow the roving engineer to have a comprehensive test kit – including audio, vector and waveform monitoring – with them at all times.
Add to this demonstrations of the latest rastorisers from Hamlet, including the modular DigiScope and MonitorScope 9000 series on-screen display systems.
VidScope-vx is the software-only quality control application, which allows any PC with an I/O board to meter audio, colour gamut, vectors and waveforms – or all at once – logging the results as well as displaying them on screen. The result is a comprehensive test package at a very affordable price – often lower for the whole suite than for a single dedicated instrument. The latest addition to the software is the capability of measuring 4:4:4 dual-link HD including embedded Dolby surround sound.
