Cosgrove Hall Films Receives Accolade At RTS

Award winning animation company ‘Cosgrove Hall Films’ received the coveted judges award at the annual North West Regional Television Society Awards (RTS) at Manchester’s newest landmark, the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate on November 18.
The judging panel of eminent North West media professionals unanimously dedicated the special award to Cosgrove Hall in recognition of the work produced by the internationally acclaimed company over the past thirty years. Cosgrove Hall received further recognition when ’Little Robots’ an exciting stop frame animation series for older pre-schoolers, won the award for best children’s programme.
The judges award was received by the founders of Cosgrove Hall, Brian Cosgrove and Mark Hall along with present Managing Director, Anthony Utley. Francis Vose and his team of creative professionals accepted the award for ‘Little Robots’.
Utley said: “Cosgrove Hall is a globally respected animation company but its roots are firmly located in Manchester and therefore it is fantastic that our work is recognised by the RTS and the people of the Northwest.
Cosgrove Hall is home to an array of talented professionals and we have been making award winning programmes for the past thirty years and will continue to do so. It is a privilege to receive these two wonderful awards to add to our ever growing collection."
Commenting on the judges award Chair, RTS NW Helen Bullough added: “I’m delighted that the Judges decided to mark Cosgrove Hall’s 30th birthday celebrations by presenting them with this year’s prestigious Judges Award. From their base in Chorlton, South Manchester, they’ve brought joy and delight to millions of viewers across the world."
Mark Hall and Brian Cosgrove established Cosgrove Hall in 1976 and became best known for producing cult classics including Dangermouse, Count Duckula and Wind in the Willows. Mark and Brian have since retired but Cosgrove Hall still remains one of Europe’s top animation companies employing between 70-100 people and making programmes like Rupert the Bear and Postman Pat.
