MITES HD Technology Utilised at FACT

Two internationally acclaimed artists now showing at FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), are amongst the first to have benefited from professional High Definition production equipment which is now available for hire from MITES (Moving Image Touring Exhibition Service).
The exhibition as part of the Liverpool Biennial 06 is showing from September 16 to November 26.
Matthew Buckingham’s 'Obscure Moorings' and Anu Pennanen’s 'A Day in the Office' were filmed and edited using the new broadcast standard technology.
A complete HD service - from shoot, through to edit and post-production is now available from MITES, a service offered by FACT and funded by Arts Council England to support artists, filmmakers and professionals across the creative industries.
This new service brings the highest industry standard HDCAM and user-friendly HDV production equipment and facilities to artists for the first time. FACT is the only dedicated place in the UK where artists have access to this cutting edge technology.
Offering one of the highest specification HD cameras available - the Sony HDW-750PC, MITES has made a significant contribution to HD technology for artists, providing access to what has fast become a video standard across film and television.
MITES industry standard High Definition Production equipment includes the Sony HDW-750PC with an additional tripod, wide angle lens, glidecam system, field monitor and backup batteries. This equipment integrates with the Creative Design Studio, which enables editing and viewing of HD footage using Final Cut Studio and HD monitors.
