HP appoints Colour Confidence as Z series partner

Colour Confidence, a leading independent colour management specialist, has been appointed by HP as an official partner for the new Z series printers.
Coming in 8- and 12-ink format, the printers are designed to deliver superior colour accuracy and consistency and are the first-ever printer to come with an embedded spectrophotometer. The Z2100, available immediately, and the Z3100, expected to be shipping in mid-November, have been launched Photokina.
Simon Prais, Technical Director Colour Confidence commented: "This is a revolutionary development for photographic printing; the in-built spectrophotometer recognises the importance of printer profiling for all users and will provide them with real confidence in their colour accuracy. The technological advances in this printer will negate the need for inaccurate custom profiles and expensive remote profiling services. We are very pleased to see this development and to partner with HP in promoting this product."
Being selected as a partner for the new printers is recognition of the added value that Colour Confidence can provide to their customers. With a track record of consistent excellence in consultancy, implementation and training, Colour Confidence have been able to apply this expertise in their day-to-day sales of all colour management equipment, offering independent advice on a full range of colour management solutions.
With this base of knowledge, the new printers fit well into their product range and provide customers with the opportunity to source a complete workflow from one place.
Suzy Dorsett, Business Development Manager, Large Format Printing, HP commented: "Colour Confidence provides us with the best route to market for those customers whose colour is absolutely paramount. Their expertise means that they have an in-depth understanding of the technology in the printer and are able to add significant value to the purchase with their wide-ranging experience."
The HP Designjet Z2100 printer is ideal for graphic designers, fine artists and photographers who need to create high-quality prints and concept proofs with accurate and consistent colours. The 8-ink system comes with 3 black inks, the ability to print with or without borders, a preview function allowing you to eliminate the cost of trial and error and most importantly an embedded spectrophotometer that will automatically generate custom ICC profiles for your preferred paper in less than 20 minutes.
Also available with the 24 inch models is the upgrade to the GP range. This includes a HP colorimeter and more advanced software for controlling the in-built spectrophotometer.
For an opportunity to see the new products in action, and to hear a seminar on colour management, Colour Confidence and Hewlett Packard will be running a series of seminar and demonstration days during November. (DS/CD)
