DK-Technologies launches a new colour analysing and calibration service

Smaller post production houses that need to calibrate their LCD screens and monitors can now tap in to a new service from DK-Technologies that will allow them to access the latest high quality colour analysing equipment without having to buy it.
DK-Technologies Calibration Services (DTCS), a pilot scheme being spearheaded by the company's UK office, has come about as a direct result of customer demand.
Mark Chambers, head of Sales & Marketing for DK-Technologies (UK), commented: "Our LCD and CRT Colour Analyser products have proved very popular with the larger post production facilities, many of which have numerous screens that need calibrating regularly to ensure the best quality results for their clients. For smaller facilities with limited numbers of monitors it makes sense to outsource this service. Our aim is to extend the benefits of DK's LCD and CRT Colour Analyser product range to these facilities by offering one off calibrations or a calibration plan that does not involve any disruption or monitor absence whatsoever."
Chambers added: "Obviously its better for a facility to own its own calibration equipment, but for those that don't our new service will fill the gap. In every case the work will be carried out by one of our trained engineers at the customer's convenience so that the service remains easy and seamless."
The need to calibrate monitors is vital for all post facilities, regardless of their size, because monitors are the most unstable element in the production chain. Alongside regular calibration, post production facilities can help their monitors stay uniform by keeping them switched on and feeding a black signal or a 'screen saver signal' when they are not being used.
