Dan May named President of Blackmagic Design

Blackmagic Design has announced the appointment of Dan May as President of Blackmagic Design, Inc.
May joins Blackmagic as the company begins the re-location of its US corporate headquarters to Milpitas, California. All operations currently handled by the Las Vegas, Nevada office will be transferred to the Milpitas office. Blackmagic Design manufactures the world's highest quality video cards and converters for the post-production and television broadcast industries.
“Our move to the Silicon Valley from Nevada is an extremely exciting opportunity for us and will enable us to have stronger ties with our alliance partners,” said Grant Petty, CEO, Blackmagic Design. “We welcome Dan to the team and are confident his talent and strong sales skills will enable us to move forward and into new markets and opportunities.”
May comes to Blackmagic Design from Inlet Technology where he helped to establish the company as a leader in high-quality advanced encoding solutions. Prior to his position with Inlet, May was responsible for sales and distribution channels for Canopus's video technology solutions. May is a frequent contributor at industry forums and on panels, sharing his vast technical knowledge. He received his Bachelor's Degree from San Jose State University.
“I'm absolutely thrilled to join a company with such a strong reputation as has Blackmagic Design, and I'm looking to being part of a team that's changing the post production industry,” said May when asked about his new position as President of US operations. “Blackmagic is the most innovative company in its space and has quickly established itself as the leader. The company does not hesitate to implement changes that present superior benefits for our customers. There is no better company I'd rather be part of, than Blackmagic Design -- the team that is revolutionising the video industry.”
