Advent to launch new product ranges at IBC 2006

Satellite uplink manufacturer Advent Communications is to launch two new product ranges at IBC this year: its first dual-purpose ‘FlyDrive’ antenna and a brand new compact 5000 series electronics package.
The ‘Advent FlyDrive’ antenna is a compact, fully motorised satellite terminal designed for rapid deployment. It is currently available in two antenna sizes, 1.2m and 1.5m and will support X, Ku, DBS and Ka band feeds, as well as C band for the 1.5m.
This antenna can be used either as a traditional flyaway or as a semi-permanent vehicle-mounted terminal that can be fitted to most roof racks using standard fittings.
It offers full 3 axis motorised control with manual backup, satellite auto acquisition and tracking. The ‘Advent FlyDrive’ fits into two IATA weight compliant flight cases for quick deployment by a single user anywhere in the world.
Advent will also be launching its new 5000 series electronics units, which will encompass a range of products. These are new products available in ½ unit sizes enabling two units to be mounted together in a single 1U rack.
The 5000 series electronic units are compatible with the new ‘Advent FlyDrive’ and can be used with Advent’s other products: the popular Newswift Driveaways and Mantis Flyaways.
Advent Communications pioneered satellite newsgathering with their own vehicle-mounted satellite antennas and flyaways and now has over 1200 units in use with customers worldwide.
