Boris Television expands services

Boris Television has expanded its services so that it can now offer a complete production facilities and post-production package which is scalable to any customer’s requirements. As a result of its acquisition of the leading-edge Z-Link fibre optic camera channels, enhanced with its own proprietary modifications, and a strategic alliance with Image Engine, Boris can now provide services in HD or SD ranging from the supply of camera controllers up to high-definition multi-camera shoots on location or in the studio.
Boris’s Z-Links, the first fully operational HD models in the country, provide the capability to control 4 true HD cameras and 8 additional sources at distances up to half a kilometre under normal circumstances and over 10 kilometeres if required. Furthermore, the flexibility of the Z-Link system is such that any mix of cameras desired can be accommodated, from pure HD right down to PD-150 and Z-1 style cameras.
As a result, Boris can cater to customers who wish to use just one Z-Link as a single remote-controllable channel through ones wishing to use their own cameras or other equipment right up to customers who want a complete production and post-production solution.
Combined with Image Engine’s production experience, these resources enable Boris to handle news events, live sports, motorsports, concerts, video reinforcement and conferences as well as multi-camera production of drama, variety, interviews, etc. And all of this comes in a package which is fully portable.
Boris has provided live election coverage during the 2005 elections from the Prime Minister’s constituency, live mix-down and recording at a Charlie Landsborough concert, video reinforcement for Sheffield United’s promotion parade, the BBC Good Food Show, a live equestrian event with Pippa Funnell and the UK-Thailand International Kickboxing Championship.
