VIDEOTEK SUPPLY SYDNEY OLYMPICS

PANASONIC, prime contractor for the Sydney Olympic Broadcast Organisation (SOBO) has selected Videotek as the provider of test and measurement equipment for the 2000 Olympic Summer games.
As part of a system integration initiative by Panasonic, Videotek equipment will be delivered to Sydney. The equipment will also be used by many of the prestigious Olympic broadcasters around the world.
Kenny Katayama, Panasonic Olympic Project Manager said: “Videotek equipment is noted for its reliability in any environment. Videotek equipment will be the industry standard with broadcasters around the world.”
Videotek President Philip Steyaert said: “We are pleased that after looking at many options Panasonic selected Videotek. This selection will assure that optimum quality will be delivered to broadcasters around the world. The Sydney games will extend Videotek’s worldwide acceptance for critical audio and video testing applications, where reliability, speed and familiarity are key factors.”
Videotek’s latest products and developments can be seen at IBC 2000.
The new VTM-400HD multi format high definition on screen monitor is just one of their new products to be launched at the forthcoming event.
The VTM-400HD includes an on screen measurement cursor for waveform, amplitude and time, vector phase, real time signal quality alarms with user adjustable limits, plus expanded system features.
It is designed specifically for use in High Definition Television (HDTV) formats.
The new SpyderWeb Unattended networked Monitoring System will also be introduced at IBC 2000. This product has been awarded the Technology Award for 2000by the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
Other product launches from Videotek at IBC 2000 include the new Digital Prodigy and an Advanced Serial Digital Colour Corrector and Legalizer.
