DB BROADCAST LAUNCH NEW PRODUCTS

LEADING system integrators dB Broadcast, will be returning to IBC this year to showcase their new range of Hawkeye products.
Hawkeye products are used to monitor and switch analogue and digital broadcast signals. dB Broadcast have developed three new Hawkeye products for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) transmission company Crown Castle International specifically for the launch of DTT in the UK.
The new products are DART compatible allowing serial control and monitoring of modules from either a bespoke control system or a standalone PC.
The first new module is the updated Dual ASI/TS Detector Card (B041) that incorporates service information, table identification and fixed PID programme detection. It monitors three levels of data communications interface signal level, data layer and transport stream.
The second new product is the B043 Dual Switcher Card, a modification of the standard B033 card. This can be used with a new Avitel coaxial back connector, which then enables the 2x1 dual switcher card to switch signals up to 1GHz. The card can also be used for switching UHF monitoring feeds back to the terrestrial DVB receiver whereupon a transport stream analyser will monitor the output.
dB broadcast have also developed the B042 5x1 Switcher Card (500MHz) that allows users to monitor or switch five transport streams via the front panel control or external control. It has been designed for use with SDV or compressed video signals but it can be used for analogue video. It can also be used for switching the IF COF DM modulator outputs to the transmitter at the transmitter sites.
