Narrowstep help launch new broadband channel
Narrowstep, the TV on the Internet company, have helped launched a dedicated new martial arts broadband channel entitled Martial Arts TV. This is now available to view free of charge in the UK and will act as a lifestyle and entertainment source for martial arts fans.
From launch, Martial Arts TV will offer UK broadband connected viewers free martial arts action including sports, movies, lifestyle and entertainment programming. The service will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and will carry sponsorship and advertising.
Initial content includes kickboxing from Thailand, independent movies, specially created animations, quirky music videos, health & exercise training videos and more. Further large scale programming deals from the world of martial arts sports and movies are coming.
The team behind Martial Arts TV have a clear global vision: “Our mission is to bring the strength and beauty of martial arts to the world through the creation of the planet’s most successful and powerful martial arts brand.”
Martial Arts TV Founder & CEO, Patrick O’Connor-Read continued: “Narrowstep played a key part in enabling Martial Arts TV to deliver their customer focused solution. At Martial Arts TV we are always innovating and trying to find new ways to better serve martial arts fans. Narrowstep helped us to reach our audience through their TV over IP solution and services.”
Steve Beaumont CEO of Narrowstep stated: “The launch of Martial Arts TV underlines the role of Narrowstep in enabling the delivery of commercially focused niche interest TV channels which become available anytime, anyplace, anywhere.”
On the developments in broadcasting, Mr O’Connor-Read added: “The new media and broadcasting space is moving so quickly - a hybrid broadcasting model on digital TV and broadband TV is the only way to survive in the current landscape.”
Narrowstep’s Channels offer 24 hour, 7 day a week viewing with the option of scheduled programmes, highlights, video on demand and live broadcasts to anyone in the world with a broadband connection. The technology can offer viewing speeds between 56kb to 1800kb depending on a viewer’s internet speed which the technology automatically detects on login.
Martial Arts TV are actively expanding their broadband service internationally with digital TV operations to shortly follow. In addition, they are also developing clothing, mobile and merchandising operations – creating a multi-dimensional sports and entertainment brand.
Martial Arts TV also provides a rich variety of ways for this loyal community to interact with each other online, including forums, blogs, as well as interactive events and clubs listings.
The channel is backed by a strong management team combining over 100 years of experience running leading global media companies including Paramount, Universal, MTV, EMI, Thorn EMI Screen, HMV, PolyGram and UPC. (CD/CL)
