Rorke Data sign distribution agreement with Avid Technology

Video Broadcast industry specialist Rorke Data, has announced the signing of a national distribution agreement with Avid Technology, for the Avid Xpress, Avid Liquid and MEDIArray families of real-world, real-time DV, SD, HD and film editing applications for Mac and PC.
Rorke will leverage its enterprise class integration facility for supplying Avid solutions to the channel based on three platforms: HP, Apple and Rorke Data’s High Performance XF11 Intel based desktop editing solutions.
“Rorke Data has seen a trend in the broadcast and post industries with resellers wanting to aggregate their choice of solutions through a single service centric supplier,” said Robert Herzan, VP of Sales for Rorke Data’s Video/Broadcast Division. “This unified approach gives resellers the ability to buy using one partner sku, have their choice of platform for their customer whether that’s HP, Apple or an Avid approved whitebox solution such as the Rorke XF11 system, while ensuring the same level of service and support regardless of the platform.”
Further differentiating the Rorke Data value proposition, is that Rorke is a tier one distribution partner for a range of third-party products of specific interest to the Post Production market place, including; Rorke brand or Avid VideoRAID storage peripherals, network connectivity products, backup and archive solutions.
From a logistical perspective, Rorke Data’s multiple warehouse and integration facilities located throughout the continental United States, enable Rorke to respond quickly to reseller requirements. These facilities are already configured with the necessary infrastructure in place, ensuring Avid resellers a smooth transition, fast response and even greater system flexibility than previously possible.
The Avid Xpress professional family of software combines professional video, audio, film, effects, DVD authoring, and encoding tools-plus custom music creation tools-for both Mac and PC.
