Hit ITV format goes international

Granada International has secured a number of format deals for ‘Dancing on Ice’, its hot new format which has already proved a cool winner with viewers in the UK.
The live entertainment spectacular has now been acquired by TV4 Sweden, TV2 Denmark and TV2 Norway who, alongside Network Nine, Australia and Mediaset, Italy, will create their own versions of the show. Further territories are lining up to option the hit format in the coming months.
The Scandinavian deal was brokered by Rochelle Bradley, Senior Sales Executive at Granada International and Anette Rømer, Executive Producer & Editor, Entertainment - Lifestyle – Formats at TV2 Denmark on behalf of the three Scandinavian broadcasters.
The Mediaset version of the show will be produced by top production company Magnolia. Crowd-pleasers at the recent Winter Olympics in Turin, Italian skating duo Barbara Fusar Poli and Maurizio Margaglio, are set to feature in the show during the eight week run.
Australian Dancing on Ice will be hosted by the UK’s own Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean who remain extremely popular ‘down under’ following their Olympic Gold Medal winning performance more than twenty years ago.
Details of the Scandinavian shows are yet to be confirmed.
