NTL BRINGS TV GUIDE BACK DOWN TO EARTH

NTL have launched the UK’s first and free of charge Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) on digital terrestrial TV.
In conjunction with interactive TV software technology providers Strategy & Technology, DTT viewers will have access to TV listings and synopses for the full range of channels currently available to them a full two days in advance, rather than the ‘now and next’ listing currently available to them.
Viewers will also be able to click on a banner advertisement which will take them to more detailed and focused microsites offering product information and availability details.
Jonathon Thompson Director of Service Management for NTL interactive said: “This new venture reinforces NTL’s commitment to providing consumers across the UK with access to interactive services. Viewers of DTT will be delighted with this new channel as it maximises their viewing capabilities and ultimately empowers them as viewers.”
In the future, added functionality will see the service offering a ‘TV Nanny’ information guide for parents using programme information from the broadcasters along with a rating system.
