IBIS WINS CONTRACT TO SUPPLY BID-UP.TV

IBIS, the UK’s leading independent broadcast automation and control systems company, have recently won the contract to supply their PreCue planning and scheduling system, and Landscape 10 transmission automation, to bid-up.tv, the interactive auction game-show channel.
PreCue was designed by IBIS to meet the needs of stations who want flexibility and speed of response from their scheduling systems, but do not need the complexity and sophistication required by the more traditional broadcaster.
Andrew Glasspool, bid-up.tv’s Chief Technology Officer, said: “The new channel will be the UK’s first truly interactive content provider. As it will not be possible for us to control how long each auction might last, we had to be sure that both the scheduling and automation systems we chose would be able to cope with rapid changes in events, without loosing track of the stings, promos and commercials planned to run between the auctions. Not only did this require an agile planning package, but the tightest integration with the transmission automation system. The unique combination of IBIS’s PreCue, ServerLoad and LandScape 10 meet that need.”
Bid-up.tv will air for 14 hours every day, available initially on digital satellite television (channel 647) and on the web.
Bid-up.tv went live in the first week of October.
