YELDHAM HEADS FILMFOUR LA PRODUCTION OFFICE
CHIEF Executive of FilmFour, Paul Webster has announced FilmFour’s emerging production office in Los Angeles will be headed by former Sundance Senior Film Programmer Rebecca Yeldham.
As Senior Vice President of Production, Yeldham’s brief will include building on existing relationships, liaison with Warner Bros, with whom FilmFour recently announced a major co-production pact and developing FilmFour’s links with US-based talent.
Set to open their doors in November, the setting up of an LA base aims to reaffirm FilmFour’s commitment to working with US-based talent.
Yeldham will work closely with Film Four’s Jim Wilson and Elinor Day and report directly to Webster.
Webster said: “We are so proud to be working with Rebecca. I have long admired her work as a key member of the Sundance team, she has unparalleled contacts with filmmakers, she's smart, savvy and a great laugh. With Rebecca running our Los Angeles division, FilmFour will be open for business with Hollywood 24 hours a day!”
Yeldham said: “After four very rich years at Sundance, I am thrilled to be charged with this incredible opportunity and challenge. I have tremendous respect for Paul Webster and his team and could not have hoped to join a more exciting and dynamic enterprise. I am convinced that with our unique passion and commitment to creating a distinctive commercial cinema, together we will build something really special.”
As well as Senior Film Programmer for the Sundance Film Festival, Yeldham also served as the Sundance Institute’s Associate Director of International Programs, overseeing the selection and administration of the prestigious NHK/Sundance/NHK International Filmmakers Award.
Earlier this year, Yeldham took leave of absence from the Institute to serve as creative consultant to Arthur Cohn, producer of the acclaimed “Central Station” and “One Day in September.”
