PHILIPS AND TRINTECH ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

PHILIPS Digital Networks, providers of digital systems solutions for Service and Network providers, and the Trintech Group, providers of electronic payment infrastructure solutions for real world, internet and wireless transactions, have entered into a partnership to interface Trintech’s payment technology with Philips digital set-top boxes to enable secure payment for television commerce (T-Commerce).
T-Commerce provides a new channel of sales opportunities for merchants, with the ability to present products in new ways through the cable or TV channel.
With the Philips and Trintech T-Commerce payment solution, consumers can automatically provide their payment information so that when they wish to pay for a product they select which card they want to use and the requested data is sent to the merchant.
